The Perpetual Adoration Chapel was dedicated on April 9, 1992. It is located in the former Baptistery. People are asked to pray there before the Blessed Sacrament.
Fr. Nagaroor was transferred in 1994 and replaced by Fr. John Melpuram. The St. Thomas Kerala India Catholic Mission was officially introduced as a mission of our parish on August 5, 1995.
A major fundraiser was held in 1995 for repairs needed to several of the parish properties, but also to install air-conditioning in the church as the fans were just not enough any longer to keep the church comfortable on many summer days.
The St. Vincent de Paul Community Food Depot, which had been located at St. Henry Parish in Lincoln Park moved into the basement of our convent. We collected food for the Food Depot in large wicker baskets in church. Fr. Curtin mentioned in church one weekend how the baskets were becoming too small for the amount of food collected. Shortly thereafter there appeared in church a large, beautiful, hand-made wooden box for our food collections. It was made and donated by a very generous and talented parishioner.
Due to some sort of “bug” which was killing many of the plants in the large planter beneath the mural in church, the plants were removed and the planter covered with marble-like panels which now offer a large area of shelving.
On April 25, 1999 Fr. John Melepuram was transferred. With his transfer, St. Angela Parish in Roseville became the new home for the Indian Mission. Fr. Jim Curtin retired in 1999 and on July 1st, Fr. Jeffrey Anifer became our new pastor.
Our first annual “Tee Off Fore Education” golf outing was held September 30, 2000. This event was planned to help raise funds for the school and its many programs.
A “Remembrance Wall of Life” was established as a parish fundraiser and in celebration of our 75th anniversary as a parish. For a fee, plaques could be purchased and inscribed with the name(s) of loved ones. The memorial hangs near the main entrance of the church.
The organ was moved from the sanctuary to the main floor of the church near the Reconciliation Room. Several pews were rearranged at this time so the choir could face the congregation and still see the altar and the organist.
Our Monthly Mass of Life began in 2001. Individual family members or entire families could be enrolled and their intentions would be celebrated at the 5:00 p.m. Mass on the first Saturday of each month.
Eight years ago (1994) students buried a Time Capsule in front of the flag pole by the school. It was dug up on May 26, 2002. Unfortunately, it apparently was not sealed well enough and water seeped in and ruined most of its contents.
Through the efforts of many fundraisers over the years, the school computer lab was completely updated over the summer of 2002 with new computers and software to enable our students to receive the most advanced computer learning available.
