Our first “Folk Mass” was conducted by the Teen Club in 1968 and held in the parish hall.  All were invited and it was well-attended.  A music survey form was distributed to the parish to understand what they thought of our music and what may or may not be needed.  As a result, the organ was moved from the choir loft to the Sanctuary.
A communal penance service was initiated in 1968.  The service consisted of scripture and homily followed by individual confession of sins and then general absolution.  This new form of confession proved popular.
The Teen Club sponsored a parish picnic during the summer of 1968.  A Folk Mass was held on the athletic field and a day of fun and games was enjoyed by all who attended
Sr. Janet, the principal of St. Mary Magdalen School for the past six years, was reassigned as of September of 1968 and Mr. William Moran, a long-time teacher at the school, became our first lay principal.
