In 1969 Fr. Gerald Flannery, our assistance priest since 1965, was reassigned and was replaced by Fr. Norbert Kendzierski.
The Usher’s Club held a Millionaire Party in the parish hall and gym. The party consisted of cocktails, dinner, dancing and games of chance.
The Teen Club held a regular Gym Night for interested teens. They offered teens a chance to show their talents at basketball, volleyball and ping-pong.
Acoustic tiles were installed in the parish hall to enhance the quality of spoken programs. The church received new roofs on the Outer Drive wing and over the choir loft. A sign to properly identify the athletic field as ‘Buhl Field’ was erected by the Dads Club.
Our first Parish Council was established with representatives from the clergy, religious and laity. This Council gives all a more in-depth look at the church as a whole and of events and concerns within our own parish community.
A 5:00 p.m. Sunday evening Mass was introduced.
